Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow in ENT (Head and Neck Surgery) at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. This post is available from 03 October 2018 for 1 year.

The duties of this post include management of Benign and Malignant Head and Neck Pathology under the supervision of the 3 Surgeons. Cambridge University Hospitals is a regional and tertiary referral centre and runs a busy Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Unit. All aspects of Head and Neck surgery are performed in the Unit and there is close collaboration with the Neurosurgical team for the management of craniofacial pathology.

The Fellow will also gain considerable experience in management of Surgical Thyroid and Parathyroid Disease as all these procedures are performed by the ENT Department. The Unit runs an active research programme and the Fellow will be invited to participate in this. The Fellow will be expected to take part in the Middle Grade on-call rota.

In order to be considered applicants must be senior trainees (either Post CCT or in the final years of training). Applicants will be expected to have had basic training in Head & Neck Surgery. Other essential criteria include FRCS (ORL) and evidence of participation in research.

This post does not carry a training number and candidates in Type 1 placements should therefore make arrangements to undertake this fellowship as Out of Programme Training.

Candidates applying from overseas should have equivalent experience in ENT and hold an exit ENT qualification.

Cambridge University Health Partners, the academic health sciences centre, in conjunction with the Institute of Continuing Education at The University of Cambridge are pleased to offer a one year Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Medicine to all clinicians employed in Cambridge. Further details and registration please see the web-link provided in the job description for this post.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking English that enables effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013).
