Our Trust

Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) NHS Foundation Trust comprises Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Rosie Hospital in Cambridge. With over 9000 staff and over 1100 beds the priorities of the Trust focus on a quality service which is all about people – patients, staff and partners. Recognised as providing ‘outstanding’ care to our patients and rated ‘Good’ overall by the Care Quality Commissioner, is testament to the skill and dedication of the people who work here. CUH’s values – Together- safe, kind, excellent – are at the heart of patient care, defining the way all staff work and behave. The Trust provides accessible high-quality healthcare for the local people of Cambridge, together with specialist services, dealing with rare or complex conditions for a regional, national and international population.

Following investment we are enhancing our clinical service across 7 days and have developed several new posts.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team of rotational clinical pharmacists.  The Department of Pharmacy at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ambitious and forward thinking, supporting the development of electronic solutions to enhance patient care.

You will participate in a rotational clinical programme which currently includes a wide range of medical and surgical specialities, solid organ transplant, critical care, neurosciences, emergency medicine and paediatrics where you will become a fully integrated member of the multidisciplinary team.  When working at weekends you will be ward based working in critical care or in the emergency department.

As a priority, the department is keen to develop all eligible pharmacists as independent prescribers, and our Education and Training team provides support for RPS Faculty portfolio development.  A well-established clinical pharmacy forum is in place, aimed specifically at our band 7 pharmacists.

You will also have the opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills by taking on the role of chief rotational band 7 pharmacist.  There will be opportunities to become a tutor for pre-registration trainees / clinical pharmacy diploma students.

The closing date for this post will be the 22nd November 2018.

Interviews are due to be held on the 30th November 2018.

This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS clearance and as a result, you will be required to pay the associated fee of £47.50. This fee will be deducted from your second month’s salary.
