Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant Cardiologist at Addenbrooke’s & Papworth Hospitals, starting as soon as possible to 07 March 2019. The post provides back-fill for maternity leave and offers an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join the established clinical team of 31 consultants.

Cambridge Cardiology has well-developed services in Diagnostics, Coronary and Valve/Structural Interventions, Electrophysiology and Transplant / Mechanical Circulatory Support. The focus of this post is General Cardiology, largely care of inpatients and outpatient clinics. The successful applicant will be based at the Addenbrooke’s site and will contribute to the Cardiology Consultant-of-the-Week inpatient and out-of-hours rota. A subspecialty interest is welcome but is not essential. There is no General Medical component to this post.

Our goal in Cambridge is to successfully integrate high quality preclinical cardiovascular science with a world-leading clinical trials organisation, operating in a University / Hospital partnership. This will be brought to fruition by the imminent re-location of Papworth hospital - the UK's largest cardiothoracic hospital - to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, and the subsequent foundation of a Heart and Lung Research Institute.

Applicants must be registered with the GMC with a licence to practice and have a CCT in Cardiology (or equivalent).
